Privacy
SIRA holds personal and academic information about students, families, tutors and associates in order to run a private tutoring practice and its gated learning platform. This page describes, in draft form, what is held and why.
What we hold
Contact details for students, parents and guardians; diagnostic and progress records; session recaps and correspondence between a family and a tutor; scheduling and attendance records; and, for tutors and associates, the information needed to plan and deliver sessions.
Who sees what
Tutors and administrators see the underlying diagnostic detail behind a student’s record. Students and families see the same evidence translated into plain language — a parent is not shown a raw diagnostic score. Information is not shared outside a student’s own tutoring relationship without consent, except where safeguarding requires it (see Safeguarding).
Retention
Records are kept for as long as a family holds an active place, and for a limited period afterward for continuity if a student returns. Exact retention periods are set out in the invitation and onboarding material issued to each member.
Your rights
Members can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information SIRA holds about them, subject to safeguarding and record-keeping obligations. Requests go through Correspondence or directly to a member’s tutor.
